Anti-Discrimination Policy
Clapwork is committed to equal opportunity and fair treatment for all users regardless of background.
1. Our Commitment
Clapwork is built on the principle that talent is universal, but opportunity is not. Our platform is designed to connect skilled professionals with meaningful work based on their abilities — not their demographics.
We prohibit discrimination in all platform activities, including job posting, hiring, assessment, contract management, and payment.
2. Protected Characteristics
Discrimination based on the following characteristics is prohibited on Clapwork:
- Race, color, ethnicity, or national origin
- Gender, gender identity, or gender expression
- Sexual orientation
- Age
- Religion or belief
- Disability or health condition
- Pregnancy or family status
- Veteran or military status
- Genetic information
- Citizenship or immigration status (where not legally required for employment eligibility)
- Political opinion or affiliation
- Social or economic background
3. Platform Safeguards
Clapwork implements the following measures to promote fair treatment:
- Structured Assessments: AI-powered assessments evaluate candidates against objective, skills-based criteria rather than subjective impressions.
- Bias Blocker: Hiring managers can review candidates using anonymized profiles that remove names, photos, and demographic signals.
- Standardized Scoring: All candidates for the same role are assessed against the same rubric, eliminating inconsistencies.
- Job Posting Review: Job descriptions are monitored for discriminatory language or requirements unrelated to job performance.
- AI Auditing: We regularly audit AI scoring models for disparate impact across demographic groups.
4. Client and Employer Obligations
Clients and employers using Clapwork must:
- Not include discriminatory criteria in job postings or screening requirements.
- Make hiring decisions based on qualifications, skills, and job-related factors.
- Comply with all applicable anti-discrimination and equal employment laws in their jurisdiction.
- Not request demographic information from candidates for the purpose of making hiring decisions (unless legally required for compliance purposes).
